Volunteer Opportunities:
There are many volunteer opportunities available through your local EITC Coalition including:

VITA Site Volunteers - Volunteers are needed to act as greeters, tax preparers, and site managers at the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites in your area.

VITA Site Coordinator - provides coordination, organization, and supervision for all aspects of the VITA site operation. The Site Coordinator is also responsible for gathering, maintaining and compiling timely statistical reports as required.

Tax Preparer – assist low income wage earners complete their tax returns during a tax filing season. Tax Preparers receive free training and are certified by the IRS.

Greeter/Screener – responsible for assisting clients to complete the intake form prior to having their tax returns prepared. This is a critical role as it is the initial point at which important filing information is gathered and verified.

 

Coalition Outreach Partners

Your local coalition is always in need of new outreach partners to help plan VITA sites and promote EITC in your area. Outreach partners can:

  • Promote EITC awareness
  • Educate families in the use of tax refunds as an asset-building strategy
  • Coordinate and participate in local and statewide promotional and recognition events
